Stockton, Dec. 17. – Mystified by the murder of Mrs. Alice Kroyer, the police Monday admitted they had learned nothing that would clear up the identity of the murderer who killed her with a blow from an iron bar late Saturday night.
The assailant waited for Mrs. Kroyer, quietly walked up behind her as she neared her home, and dealt a crashing blow across her face as she turned to see him. He then walked quietly away through a park. Three men who saw the act did not attempt to follow him.
The blow killed Mrs. Kroyer instantly.
The woman was the former wife of J. M. Kroyer, a tractor manufacturer.
She was popular here.
