I have not given “Democracy In Chains” enough praise. I would urge anyone who is interested in finding one root of the dysfunction in American politics to read this book by Nancy MacLean. Much of the racism and tendencies to autocracy in American in the last 20 years are explained in this well written book. It is a real eye-opener.
