Here are copies of the letters I’ve sent to Mr. Trump. You can also send your message at The White House web site.

Mr. Trump,
We would remind you that since your inauguration only 65 days have passed. The silliness of your claims to have improved the job market, for example, are telling and we would like you to stop taking credit for the work of the Obama administration. We all know you are lying when you make such statements and we feel it is unbecoming the office of the President. Please stick to the truth in all things big and small.

Mr. Trump,
I was shocked to find that there are 60 open ambassadorships waiting to be filled. Considering your misguided, strong-man attempts to bomb our way to peace in the Middle East and Africa, don’t you think it would be a good idea to have a solid backbone of ambassadors to funnel information, concerns, and advice back to Washington? Empty spots on critical allies like NATO, Spain, Switzerland, UN Geneva, are troubling.
Please get our Sec. of State to get on the stick and fill these posts. I’m using www.afsa.org for my information,. It is good to see that some of the Obama administration appointees didn’t abandon ship when you took over. However, I’d guess you should not count on their chivalry too long, as they will get tired of explaining your incompetence over and over to a confused and troubled world.
Governance is not like business, never has been.

Mr. Trump,
I see in your latest edition of 1600 Daily, use of the terms “so called clean power plan” , a bullet on the federal leasing for coal production, and other environmental issues you consider job killers. You and your team’s sophomoric attempts to undo hard won environmental protections in favor of a few big corporations shows us exactly what we’ve been expecting all along, that you are not and, despite what you promised on the campaign trail, have never been the friend of the common citizen of this county.
The country is doing fine, jobs are being created, people are back to work after the debacle of 2007 caused by your GOP predecessors. The environment is in better shape and companies across the country are working hard to protect it AND create jobs. We don’t need these programs rolled back, we need them further enhanced and strengthened. The bottom line is for us all to live healthier, longer lives, which limits on particulate emissions, for example, do enhance.
Stop being such an adversary to the common citizen, we’re what matters, the corporations can take care of themselves.

Mr. Trump,
I have been reading a good deal about Robert Mercer and his connections to you and your campaign. I think he would be a great candidate for the open Ambassadorship to Afghanistan. I checked yesterday and it seems it is still an open position. I think that Mr. Mercer is well qualified for the job and could oversee some job training in computer science for the Afghan people. Or, he could help the Afghan government manage its funds and possibly increase them by use of the techniques he’s honed over the years as a hedge fund manager.
If Mr. Mercer is too shy for the spotlight of Senate approval, then you should consider asking Jared Kushner to fill the position. Possibly you could send Steven Bannon to Argentina, as that too is open. I’m sure Mr. Bannon would like the peace and stability of Argentina, and if not, he can enhance it with some of his wonderful schemes. After all, many of the German Third Reich found Argentina quite comfortable after the war and it seems Mr. Bannon shares many of their philosophies.
Anyway, I’m keeping you from your golf game. Remember, keep your head down and your eye on the ball.

Mr. Trump,
We read of your affinity for coal and how you think it is somehow important that we “bring it back”. If this is true, and we don’t see why it wouldn’t be, how about you taking the lead and begin heating the Executive offices with it? I’m sure that you’d set a strong precedent and soon, everyone across America would start to heat their homes with coal. Coal in every fireplace in every Federal office, coal stoves where needed in federal agency offices, an easy win for your administration!
Why, in no time we’d be able to return to the wonderful days gone by when cities were caked with black soot and people who lived in cities had a life expectancy 20% shorter than their rural counterparts. The urban atmosphere would be brown again, like London in the early 1900’s when it lead the world in industry.
Also, you might want to buy and reclaim one of the many coal ash ponds in the USA to transform into golf courses and luxury hotel/resort destinations. We think that Tennessee could use the boost to their local economies as can other far flung locations with coal burning power plants near by. I’d guess that you could task Jered with studying the feasibility of terra-forming some flattened mountain top mines for other types of recreational destinations. Slag? No problem!
Take care and get your exercise!

Mr. Trump,
I’m pleased to see that you are following my advice in my letter of 30-MAR-2017 in which I suggested that you give Mr. Steve Bannon the ambassadorship to Argentina. I think his move off of the National Security Council indicates you agree with me. It also appears, from what I’ve been reading, that he is well suited to the position, I doubt it will take him much time to setup a warm relationship with the Argentinians.
But I’m unsure about my suggestion of appointing Robert Mercer to be our ambassador to Afghanistan. I understand that it may be difficult for Mr. Mercer to move his model trains to Kabul and it will be difficult to establish a close port for his yacht. Have you been a guest on the Sea Owl? It sounds quite nice. It is suited to people of your demeanor, people who appreciate the finer things in life. I wouldn’t worry about the millions of Americans have to use food stamps to feed their families, it is evident that they will get by just fine a few less stipends and calories while you and your peers run our county for us. You can always ask the Pakistani government to host his yacht, possibly in Karachi. I understand our relationship with them is improving all the time.
We all know you can never have enough money or power. We look at all the billionaires in your cabinet and the great job they are doing undoing things. Things we, your faithful citizens, have wanted and supported for years, like good public schools and clean air and water. No matter, after you sell all these assets to faceless corporate interests, we’ll all begin to budget for our clean water allotments and hope we have a chance to send our grandkids to places like Trump University. I know mine can’t wait.

Mr. Trump,
I’m deeply disappointed in your administration’s use of force in Syria. Your administration does not have a functioning Department of State, so I can understand why you’d devolve into gun boat diplomacy, but regretfully, it hasn’t worked in the past and it isn’t going to work now. Please get your administration’s act together and stop running this country by the book the Heritage Foundation wrote. Use what wits you have and write your own play book.

Mr. Trump,
We would like you to slap a muzzle on Jeff Sessions. He needs to stop escalating the War on Drugs. What you need to do is to cut the DEA funding by 80% until that corrupt, self serving department can regain the trust of the American People by going for one year without a major scandal. The war on drugs hasn’t worked in any meaningful way in the 45 years since Nixon launched it. Its a horrible waste of time, lives, money, and resources. We can do much better than relying on broken systems and corrupt policies we know don’t work.
If the DEA did its job, we wouldn’t have the opiate epidemic we have now. They should have been taking pharmaceutical companies to task for flooding the market with cheap opiates, they need to step up to the plate and try much harder concentrating on the source of this huge problem.
If Mr. Sessions can’t figure this out, we need to get a new AG and fast. That old man is simply playing the same old songs which didn’t work in the 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s or in the 21st century. Throw him out, clean house, get someone who actually understands our problems, not someone who simply pulls old programs out and wastes money trying them again. It hasn’t worked in the past, a repeat won’t work now.
All our best to your caddy Steve, do what he says.

Mr. Trump,
I want to see your tax returns, I wanted to see them during your campaign, and I want to see them now. I’ve lived through a number of administrations and all of them, even Richard Nixon’s divulged their tax information to show the American people there were no conflicts of interest nor shady dealings going on behind the office of the President. (Remember “I’m not a crook”? Great quote.)
Its called ethics, we want to know if you are ethical in your business dealings as you give us no other view into your trustworthiness. Sorry to say, but real-estate developers are not high on my list of people to trust and “trust me” won’t cut it.
As I look down the list of politicians who work for me, I trust most of them, and trusting a politician is very difficult. So, add together real-estate developer and politician and you get a double dose of untrustworthiness, but we’re not done yet.
As I look at the business world, I see a few businesses I trust, but 99% of them, I have zero trust in them. I’m glad there are consumer protections which allow me to get refunds when ripped off and see damages when damages occur. I know you don’t believe in that because you’re a businessman. So, we have a real-estate developer, a politician and a businessman. Three strikes and you know what that means! Release those pesky tax-returns!
We could go on and on adding more and more layers of mistrust due to the statements you made over the years that were not true, but that would exhaust me and you still won’t let us see your tax returns.
Are greens fees or tips for Steve, your caddy, tax deductible? I guess I’ll never know.

Mr. Trump,
Once again I’m writing to express my displeasure in your administration. This time, it has to do with the reports that you are trying to roll back Dodd-Frank. You may not understand this bill but it prevents banks from doing stupid things with my money. Things like lending it to you and others who don’t know how to manage businesses. This means banks, if they wish to use my money to invest, must make sure the loans are solid and have things like collateral. I know it is controversial to require banks to be conservative and manage their money properly, but they are banks not hedge funds. Hedge funds can do what they want, banks shouldn’t.
It is time for you to stop being so aggressive with the laws that protect us citizens. As I’ve pointed out to you before, the economy is doing fine, jobs are being filled and are being created, we’re in pretty good shape over all. It is because of things like the Consumer Financial Protection Administration and Dodd-Frank. Think of us, the little people with not so much money who don’t want to live through another recession. I know it is hard to imagine, but we, the average folks, live within our means.
Keep your hands off Dodd-Frank and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, they work for me!
Also, fire Ajit Pai, he’s a jerk.

Mr. Trump,
I would like you to reconsider your efforts to eliminate the Institute of Museum and Library Services. I’m retired and hence on a fixed income and have been using our local county library a great deal in the last few years. It is a very important component in our local infrastructure and our community really benefits from its continued success. It finances programs at 123,000 libraries and 35,000 museums across the country.
So, let me spell it out for you, 1) Fixed income – an income which does not vary and must be managed very carefully (quite a concept eh?). 2) Retired – not working any more. 3) Library – a place were a community goes to get information (shocking), entertainment, and educational uplift for FREE.
We support our library with our taxes, both local and federal and we want to keep it this way. Like NOAA, the EPA, and the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, the Institute of Museum and Library Services is important to many of us “normal,” tax paying Americans. Please do not cut this agency.
Or, you could donate your greens fees and caddy tips to the IMLS, I’m sure it must run about the same, $230,000,000 which is chicken feed to a rich guy like you.
Also, please fire Mick Mulvaney! He is totally out of touch with America, he hasn’t gotten one right yet and makes you look like a fool.

Mr. Trump,
Here is the view from the bottom on Ajit Pai’s and your administration’s plan to kill net neutrality.
We have been internet users and entrepreneurs since the internet began, our first web page was built in 1993 and still exists today. I used the internet in business back in the late 1980’s. Our websites are focused on public education and provide free services via the internet to anyone who needs it. We carry no advertising on our web sites, we fund it ourselves as we think the internet should be free.
As time moved forward, we saw the commercialization of the internet and were disappointed by the stupid mistakes people made in repeating a badly designed paradigm by using advertising for the monetization of the content. It is a failure, people are leaving this model by the millions as the annoying and bandwidth consuming factors can no longer be ignored by a public with limited funds and attention spans. Ad-blocking, cord cutting, script blocking and other technologies are moving to the forefront of the consumer experience on the internet.
Yet, Mr. Pai wants to move us backwards into a hole which we will never be able to get out of. By investing in and removing control over the monolithic structure of the major ISP’s like ATT, VERIZON, and COMCAST, people will have no choice but to block more ads, kill more scripts, and try in every way they can to protect their privacy. They know they are being scammed and abused yet your administration seems to want to flaunt that in our faces. It won’t work, there will be a major backlash against both your administration and the corporations who run it in the internet arena and, as we’re already seen, in others.
I know you don’t understand how the internet works, but it is not like TV. TV is a dying dinosaur and the internet will replace it. You and your administration should get on the bandwagon of a neutral internet and join with the public in its move from the shackles of corporate domination into the open society that the internet promises. ATT/VERIZON/ COMCAST do not give us these choices, nor does Ajit Pai’s blatant corporate sellout. No self-respecting techie would ever endorse that man, he’s a lawyer for gods sake.

Mr. Trump,
As a veteran and a former gun owner, I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in you for attending and speaking at a National Rifle Association meeting. I do not agree on one single point in the NRA’s agenda and view them as a hate mongering, fringe lobby intent on doing one thing, encouraging the use of guns in the increasing tide of murder and suicide among the American people.
We should be working to curb the NRA at every juncture. No lobby should be invested with the out-sized power that the legislative and executive branches of the government allow them to have. You can stop them and stop the damage they inflict in our society by not standing with them, let alone speaking to and appearing to support them.
The NRA does not represent the 2nd amendment in my view, but have used their organization to misrepresent this amendment and to inject paranoia and rage into our national dialog. We do not need any more efforts to split this county. We need a vision which binds us together, and the NRA is not that organization.
By promoting education and science in all things, we can succeed. Promoting hatred and ignorance is self-defeating. Please withdraw from any future association with the NRA and set a good example.

Mr. Trump,
Your administration’s latest outrages where you authorize the selling of mineral and other rights on Federal lands and place our coastal waters back into play for oil extraction tell us one thing, your greed has no bounds.
Erich Fromm described greed as “a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction.” This defines our petroleum and mining cartels perfectly. They know no limits when it comes to what’s enough and when to strike a balance between their corporate well being and the well being of the people.
We have enough oil. The price of oil and minerals, even rare earth minerals, is flat. We want our coast lines clean and unfettered from potential disasters. If you forgot, or didn’t pay attention, there is a long list of disasters concerning oil and mineral extraction which we, the taxpayers, are still cleaning up for the corporate freeloaders you enable. Think SUPERFUND sites in the mines in Colorado, Nevada, California, the coastal waters from Alaska to Louisiana which are still recovering from our heavy touch.
Stop while you can, seek help of a good rabbi and confess your sins of greed then repent. It will be better for us all when you do.

Mr. Trump,
I’m glad Sebastian Gorka is going to leave White House. It is time you realized that your choices for some staff members wasn’t the best but you can still remedy this and save their reputations by following my suggestion of a few weeks ago to assign them to some key (and cushy) diplomatic posts around the world.
I suggested Steven Bannon might like Argentina due to the parallels between his beliefs and those of members of the Third Reich, who, as you know, went to Argentina after the end of the second world war. I also suggested Robert Mercer for a posting to Afghanistan so he could help the Afghan government get on the road to solvency and wean them off our substantial foreign aid.
Mr. Gorka is a prime candidate for some post in Hungary, preferably on the right side of the country, as I understand he has right-leaning beliefs which could find a good home in such an environment. He might be able to take his fire-arms along with him so he fits in better with the Hungarian way of life. If not Hungary, we could send him to Libya as he thinks he knows a lot about that country and how to fix all their troubles. But, he and Mr. Orban, the Hungarian Prime Minister should bond, they share so many things in common.
I’m sure Mr. Orban will be up on your list of invitees to the White House, he is a good looking guy and has so many of the qualities you seem to admire in a man. Is a bro-mance in the making or will we have to wait until Mr. Duterte leaves the White House before we know? So many strong leaders and so little time.
I’m sure your head is spinning after reading two or three paragraphs, so I’ll let you think these suggestions over while you play your next round of golf.

Something odd was happening with the White House web page for submitting messages to the President, it refused to accept this literary gem:
Mr. Trump,
As I suspected, your statements in your fact denying speech on the AHCA yesterday are simply not true. You said about the ACA ,” the insurance companies are fleeing. It’s been a catastrophe.” You don’t mention that you and your party are directly responsible for the failure of insurers to back up the plan. As is quoted in an article by J. Gruber in the Washington Post, “Reports from the Kaiser Family Foundation and Standard & Poor’s found that insurers had seen a turnaround overall in their financial performance. Kaiser found that for insurers on the individual market, gross margins had rebounded to their highest level since 2013 and were trending upward.”
Then your administration pulled the rug out from under them by cutting the risk pool funding and leaving commitments to the market open. Your understanding of the insurance market are telling and we, your middle class tax payers, are not going to forget how the GOP is going to screw us over once again.
We’re out here losing sleep due to your insane actions, you’re showing us you could care less about us. You guys have to be nuts.

05/09/2017 – F.B.I. Director James Comey Is Fired by Trump.
Mr. Trump,
This isn’t an episode in some beleaguered reality TV show where some CEO fires subordinates. This is the real world and you just fired one of our top policemen. It is unbelievably petty and cowardly. I’m no fan of Comey’s but I do think that his office should be above your efforts to shut down the investigation into your campaign.
You should resign. Nixon is rolling in his grave.
