Sacramento Union, 17 January 1917
Mrs. H. A. Cable of Los Angeles, president of the women’s legislative council, has established a bureau in the Sacramento hotel for the remainder of the legislative session. The women of the state have been studying for the past two years on legislation important to women, and have decided to center all effort upon the passage of three measures dealing directly with women. They will propose eligibility to jury duty, urge an appropriation for the construction of a home for the feeble minded in Southern California, and ask laws amending the inheritance tax law in so far as it affects the community rights of wives.
