These posters were found behind an old storage rack on rue Vieux-Chatel, Neuchâtel Switzerland, in what we called "The Ink Factory" when we lived in number 21 on this block. Our neighbor Aline gave them to us in 2002, we think she found them around this time when she was moving out. I have found some references to a publication called "La croix-bleue" with the description of "organe de la Branche romande de la Société suisse de tempérance de la Croix-bleue" which seems to fit nicely with the texts on the bottom of the temperance poster. This was on google and the documents referenced were from 1908.
The text on the poster is "ENFANTS QUAND VOUS SEREZ GRANDS FUYEZ L'ALCOOL IL EST LA SOURCE DE BIEN DES MAUX" which translates to "CHILDREN WHEN YOU GROW UP STAY AWAY FROM ALCOHOL IT IS THE SOURCE OF MANY TROUBLES." This poster is 88 x 110 cm.
The LESSIVE-RICHARD poster is not dated but we did locate the grandson of the M. Richard and were able to return the poster to him. Weird thing, he lived across the street from the old "ink factory" in 2010.
If you can tell us anything about the "Croix-blue" poster please let us know here.
